Battery System

Ultra Low Clamping TVS

Battery Management System (BMS) ICs typically operate with a nominal voltage rating of 80 V, and are designed to withstand transients up to 90 V.

To safeguard the MOSFET charge and discharge switches against voltage spikes—commonly caused by overcurrent shutdown events or inductive kickback—robust transient voltage suppression is essential. For this purpose, multiple 5.0SMDJ or 8.0SMDJ TVS diodes can be configured in parallel. Alternatively, low-clamping 5.0SMDJ-n series devices are recommended for enhanced protection and reduced peak voltages during surge conditions.

Battery Short-Circuit & Reverse Protection

The M74700 supports ±100 V DC operation with built-in reverse current and reverse polarity protection, safeguarding battery systems such as e-scooters and e-power applications from damage caused by short circuits or accidental polarity reversal.
